Easy come, easy go

I came to the airport with a suitcase full of gifts. I thought a lot about what would make a nice gift for my Indian friends. I wasn't sure what to bring. If I were visiting a town in America under similar circumstances, I'd bring cookies for my host and my friends. Who doesn't love homemade cookies? It also helps that I'm a great cookie baker.

I decided to bring cookies to India. I ordered these beautiful yellow tins that can be reused. I filled those tins with my best cookies. I've been baking extra cookies when I bake for Swami Sunday and storing them in the freezer. Last night I was up late packaging the cookies and preparing the tins. I also saved some mini pringles containers. They fit a half dozen cookies perfectly. I prettied them up with some paper and they make cute little cookie cans. I have been so excited about my cookie haul!

Checking in today, I discovered that my bag was 8 pounds over. It was a $300 upcharge. I opted to wheel my bag over to the window and use their scale to reduce the bag's weight. Guess what weighed 9 pounds? Hand cream, medical tape, gauze and the four tins of cookies. C'est la vie.
