Ganeshpuri friends, new and old

Updated: Apr 7

Strangers have been asking to take selfies with me since my very first visit to Ganeshpuri in 2019. Sometimes I ask them to take a picture with my camera as well. I'll drop those pics here, along with the pics I get with my friends that I already know.

This is my friend, Seema. We have been Facebook friends for many years. A couple of years ago, she moved to Ganeshpuri. We finally got to meet in person recently. Seema invited me to her home for dinner.

Seema rescues dogs. There are a lot of wild dogs in Ganeshpuri. This little guy is Jerry. He is a cute puppy!

This is my friend, Vijaya's daughter. When she found out I had taken Brahmacharin vows this past summer, she gifted me these beautiful shawls.

This is my friend Vijaya. We are the same height in this photo because I am sitting down. 🤣 Vijaya has a shop on the temple grounds called Devi Ma. She is so warm and welcoming. I stop by and visit with her most days.

This is my Facebook friend, Rajeev, and his wife. He was visiting Ganeshpuri for the day, and I recognized him in the temple. We were delighted to finally meet in person!

This little girl approached me in the canteen, which is the one restaurant in Ganeshpuri that Gurudevi assures us is safe for western bellies. As I was leaving, her father requested a picture with her and I.

This is my friend Harsh (pronounced Ashash - at least that's the way I've been pronouncing it!). We both like to attend the poojas in the Shiva temple at 5:30am and 7:30pm.

This is my friend Machindra. We have been Facebook friends for many years. He is a wireman (electrician) at the temple. During my first week here, Machindra brought me to his house for lunch one day. He lives in a small village that is a 15 minute scooter ride from Ganeshpuri. I rode on the back of his scooter - it was so much fun!
