Yesterday I was invited to attend a yoga class at the Ganeshpuri primary school. My friend Mohini leads the group of yoga teachers that travel all over the area teaching yoga to school children.
This class was held in the village of Ganeshpuri. We walked there.
Most of their classes are held in tribal villages and the teachers need to ride scooters to get there - walking would take too long! These teachers are very dedicated to the yoga and the children.
I was treated like a VIP, with seating behind the teachers.
And lots of folks eager for pictures after. I stayed seated so I wouldn't tower over everyone. My height is one of the things about me that draws attention wherever I go.
A couple if the little girls offered me a rose.
And the administrator also grabbed a picture and posted it on their social accounts.
I've been aware of these teachers and their efforts for many years, and I've dreamed of attending one of these classes. It was so very special! I am aware of the program because Svaroopa Vidya Ashram sponsors the yoga program and the teachers. If you'd like to contribute to this program, you can do so here.
I'm inspired to set up a small monthly donation. A little bit goes a long way here, and a monthly donation gives them consistent and reliable income. Care to join me? Set up your monthly pledge here. What a special morning!
What a great experience! Kushala, you look beautiful with that red rose
Kushala, what a wonderful experience! What dedicated teachers!
